Read MoreBlackberry versus ipad, Blackberry Tablet
With the recent launch of ipad and the overwhelming response has shown, iPad and the iphone seems to have been able to take Blackberry mobile globally. To overcome the situation, Blackberry has decided to compete with its latest product, the Tablet PC which is expected to enter the market later this year.
They did not disclose any details, but bloggers have reported that the tablet is about 8.9 inches while ipad is about 9.7 inches. Hardware manufacturing companies from Taiwan, Quanta and California, Marvell Technology Group will help them with related hardware and silicon solutions for the Tablet Blackberry.
No bigger than the laptop, nor less than smart phones, Blackberry Tablet is said to have the battery for 10 hours and weighs 1.5 pounds, will also provide a connection to the Apple app store, application store in the world’s largest with more than 200,000 applications to the user.
Lack of competitive ability to iPad, Blackberry, less than tablets over the internet and e-book device will hit the market at a place in the month of December. While iPad is a way to reach the top in nine world-markets such as Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and Japan.
Read MoreTransgenic Animals
Given the commercial success of transgenic plants, the lack of commercially available transgenic animals is surprising. There are several reasons for this. Many crops had readily identifiable problems (eg. corn and the European corn borer) that could be attacked with single genes (eg. gene that produces a protein that is toxic to the borer). Such simple problems are less common in animal production systems. For example, feed efficiency (the ability of an animal to convert feed into tissue) is tremendously important; if an animal can gain weight with less feed, the producer can reap large savings. Unfortunetely, a number of factors control feed efficiency, and single-gene solutions are unlikely. Increased animal (eg. pig) growth hormone improves feed efficiency but can also seriously affect animal health (eg. abnormal skeleton development).
